In theory the whole social isolation thing sounded awesome. In practice, it is boring and is forcing me to do things like keep Netflix on all the time in the background to “simulate” the work environment (and unwillingly learn how to add C++ addons to Node.js).
I recently started using VPN for almost everything and Google is PISSED! Everytime I try to search for something, it keeps asking me to do the whole “are you sure you’re not a robot” thing?
My only guess is that it confuses the crap out of their AD platform: “Our spy data shows that he is in Canada but his IP is from Croatia. DO WE SPAM HIM WITH CANADIN OR CROATION ADS??? Arrgh!! Let’s bug him with the robot thing until he turns off the VPN”
